Pakistani arrested over rape of Egyptian child in Kuwait

KUWAIT: Kuwaiti authorities said they have captured one of six Pakistani men accused of kidnapping and raping a 9-year-old Egyptian child, Al-Rai newspaper has reported.
Criminal investigation officers in the Khaitan, a suburb of Kuwait City, said they immediately launched investigations after the father of the child victim reported the incident.
They said they arrested a suspect who confessed to the crime, and said that five other men were involved too.
A security source quoted by the newspaper said that investigations carried out resulted in arresting a group of suspects, over possible ties to the crime.
They said the victim was able to identify the same suspect every time they were presented to him, the source added.
During investigations, the suspect confessed that they kidnapped the child from outside his home before taking him to a deserted field.
The suspect said all his other partners in the crime are Pakistani nationals, adding that he only knows their first names and does not know where they live.
